Went to the Gymboree Valentine's Day party tonight. Bronwen is so much like me, it is scary. She was intimidated by all the people there; she hung back and didn't want to participate. I wanted so badly for her to just relax, but no such luck. Still, she loosened up once she got a cookie and juice.

After the snack she got a plastic ring and used it like a steering wheel. I sat beside her and asked her where we were driving. She said, "We're going to New Orleans. The Big Easy."

I managed to keep a straight face.

Aunt Jana gave Bronwen a camera for Christmas, and Bronwen has been snapping pictures ith great enthusiasm. T.J. finally uploaded some of her work to the computer. I know--it seems like a long time, but you have to unscrew a tiny door to get to the USB port, so it isn't a simple plug-n-go.

Finishing up breakfast this morning, Bronwen comes up to me and peers into my mug. "Is that coffee?" she asks. "Yes," I replied, "That is my coffee."

She looks at me and says, "Do you have a coffee mustache?"

Rainy Days

Today is my kind of a day--gloomy with a steady rain. Since I can't sit and read all day like days of yore, I decided to bake some bread with Bronwen. Then we made Rice Krispie treats. After that she wanted to work on...well, see for yourselves. Lila is napping, also a fantastic rainy day activity.

Is it March Yet?

I promise I am not wishing time away, but I am excited about March because I enrolled Bronwen in a class called "Toddler Swamp Adventure." We will spend 2 hours every Wednesday in March learning about plants and animals through activities and hikes. Also in March is Sesame Street Live--tickets have already been purchased. I am gearing up for spring! I
should be looking ahead short term because the Super Bowl is Sunday, and Mardi Gras is shortly after that. So much to do, so little time. TJ already has big plans about heading into New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year, so I am starting to prepare myself. I know Bronwen will love it.

Last weekend we headed out to the LSU lakes in the morning to see if we could spy the bald eagle again. We did, but he was flying away (wrong direction, Mr. Eagle). We ended up walking around a bit, looking at some ducks. Nothing too exciting.
