I took two videos of this--but sadly, the blinds were open behind her for the first one, so the glare is disconcerting.
We hadn't even had a strenuous day--she was fussy in the morning, and we played outside a little. We went to the grocery store. Then I thought she might be hungry. She was, but she kept closing her eyes as she ate, as if the effort to do both was too much for her. At one point she even seemed to nod off. It was then I decided to get the video.
She went down for a nap shortly after this video.

Snack Time
Since the weather has been perfect, and also since I've been only giving Bronwen one nap a day, we've been indulging in a mid morning snack outside each day.
The following pictures and dialogue represent actual words and events. Names have not been changed to protect the innocent.
Jen: "Bronwen, do you like your snack?"
Bronwen--smiles and holds up goldfish.
Jen: "Bronwen, before you take another bite, make sure you've finished all of the bite in your mouth, okay?"
Bronwen--Proves to her mama that her mouth is indeed empty.
And now, my problem solving genius:
Disclaimer: please ignore my legs in this video. Note to self: wear long pants. Ugh!

How Does Your Garden Grow?
Seeing how Bronwen so enjoys the fruits (fruit) of my labor, I decided to let her help us with some overdue gardening.
Thanks to Mimi for her garden tools. She was really enjoying them. I tried to separate the rake from the spade, but she pitched a fit and would not be calmed until they were back together. Far be it from me to argue with "Her Gardening Highness."
We decided she needed some hand protection.
I know they are on the wrong hands, but they are also 100 sizes too big.
This picture is right before TJ hands her the shovel, so he can go relax with a home brew while she works.

My One Remaining Tomato
The Fate:
The Backstory:
I planted two tomato vines this year, fully expecting to have a plethora of ripe, juicy tomatoes all summer long. Alas, it was not meant to be. I would get flowers, but never any fruit! It was quite frustrating. I did have one tomato that turned yellow and was on its way to reddening, when a rogue squirrel swiped it, ate half, and left the remaining half on the fence to taunt me.
Imagine my surprise when after Gustav, I went to check my blown-about vines and discovered yet another tomato! It was green, but it was growing. "Yippee," thought I! Then, as the Mr. McGregor fates would have it, another "squirrel" snuck into my garden and stole it away! That was it--I pulled up the vines and gave up for this year.
The culprit:
She isn't sorry she did it.
Here she works on taking a good bite:
She was a little surprised that I caught her in the act.
"Hey Bronwen, what do you have?"
RIP, dear tomato. Maybe I'll try again next year.
