Just Another Thursday
I know I am not providing much witty commentary, but really, none is needed, right? You don't really want to muddle through the quagmire of my verbiage; you want to see the goods! So here you go...

Sunflowers
Bronwen's Aunt Jana sent her this book a few months ago. It's a really lovely tale about a girl planting sunflower seeds and watching as they grow and change over the seasons. Bronwen really loves the story, and when she asked for a project one day, I decided it would be fun to grow our own sunflowers out back.
She and I planted the seeds in cups (thanks for the seeds, too, Aunt Jana!), and within two days we had sprouts pushing their heads up through the soil. They have been getting taller, and I asked T.J. to help Bronwen replant them in the back garden.
Mimi had given Bronwen a set of gardening tools 2 Easters ago, and I put aside this shovel because it was a little big for her. Not any more! Bronwen, clad in her gardening finery, was all ready to work at getting her seedlings into the ground.
The gloves came off, and Bronwen took on the role of supervisor as T.J. gently put the seedlings into the ground. If you look carefully in the window behind them, you'll see that Jerry is also supervising from inside. That Jerry really doesn't like the heat. (If you don't know who Jerry is, he is the yellow giraffe she is holding in this post)
Now we will just watch them grow!

Hanging Out

Playing with Daddy
Lately it has been either stifling hot or storming in the late afternoons, and as a result, Bronwen has been mostly housebound when T.J. gets home from work. Last night we finally got Bronwen out of the house in the evening with the promise of bubbles.
T.J. (obviously) brought his camera outside, and Bronwen knows not only how to snap a picture and see it appear on the screen, but also how to press the play button to make it reappear. Here she and T.J. ham it up together. These pictures just make me happy.

Soap Star
And now a brief look into...
"Days of Our Bath Time"
Bronwen, while playing with Miss Water Duck is caught by surprise at the sudden appearance of the camera. She has been surreptitiously using Miss Water Duck for her own selfish purposes while carelessly casting Happy Hank aside. (tiny monkey in right corner)
With just one coy look, Bronwen tries to explain that Miss Water Duck has been a good friend to her, while Happy Hank has been driving her bananas. She claims she is too cute to be involved in any "Toy favoritism" scandal.
Having no choice but to agree, I give her permission to play with Miss Water Duck if she pleases. Bronwen, thrilled, begins to brush the excess water off her friend--the water that didn't roll off her back on its own.And so ends this chapter in "Days of Our Bath Time" with our heroine and her Duck splashing happily ever after....

The Uncle Johnny Jump-up
I had nothing to do with this. I wasn't even in the room at the time. The only thing that made T.J. mad was the camera ran out of memory right before she actually did give him a smile. Oh well.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Rainy Days
We finally got some much-needed rain here! It was the perfect kind, steady and lovely. T.J. and Bronwen decided to go outside to play in it. When you frolic in the rain, there are a few rules to abide by:
Rule #1: You need the proper equipment:
Rule #2: You do not need shoes
Rule #3: Don't be afraid to get a little wet
Rule #4: Leave inhibitions at the doorRule #5: Spend some time just enjoying the ripples you've made.
While Bronwen was out playing, what, you ask, was Lila up to?
Not much, just hanging out.

Moving Mountains
Lately Bronwen has taken an avid interest in the Statue of Liberty. We're not really sure why--she has a book that has her in it, but only as a secondary character. Anyhow, all she wants to do is look at pictures of said statue on the computer. I told Bronwen that since Aunt Jana lives near NYC that maybe she could possibly get her a Statue of Liberty on her next visit.
This was quite an exciting prospect for Bronwen and immediately we had to call and ask. Aunt Jana was all over it, and within a week, all the way from Manhattan, our very own Lady Liberty arrived!
I had no idea the packaging would be so large--I should have expected since she is quite massive.

Thank You, Mimi
Bronwen was so excited after her nap to discover a package had arrived from Mimi. After shooing Pepper away, Bronwen immediately tore into the box, discovering all kinds of goodies:
I have another video, but I can't get it to upload! Ugh. Tried 3 times...maybe later I'll try again.

Good Sense
T.J. promised to upload pictures tonight. In the meantime, here is a video I took this morning. I had one plan, and then as typically happens, it was dropped in favor of a real life moment.
