Time Flies

Once again, side-by-side comparison of 2007 and 2008. I never would have guessed last year that she would have a head full of curls!

Christmas Morning

The first gift Bronwen opened was actually on the Saturday before when we went to Leslie and Aaron's for their tacky Christmas party. Thanks for the awesome zoo, Leslie!Lucy, decked out in her own Santa suit, happily assisted.
Bronwen's main Christmas gift, thanks to Santa Aunt Jana and Santa Mimi was a Little Tikes Sizzle n' Serve kitchen. Here is the Christmas Eve assembly:Completed product:
All the gifts under the tree:Bronwen didn't know what to make of her kitchen at first. Luckily, Mimi showed her how to play, and she didn't even want to take a break for "real" breakfast!

Zoo!

The Tuesday before Christmas was supposed to be a nice, toasty 65 degrees, so we decided to make a trip to the BR Zoo. It was actually quite chilly in the morning, but the animals were still out, and we had a nice time walking around.T.J. was excited to see the flamingos, and the giraffe was happy to stick his tongue out at us.Bronwen was just happy to have some PB crackers.Bronwen started to get a little tired as we were nearing the end, but a playground helped to boost her spirits. Hmm...seems like Mimi had a good time too.More Christmas holiday fun forthcoming!

Busy Times!

We have been super-busy over here at the St.R. abode. So much so that I just haven't had time to upload anything new! Part of that does stem from the fact that I have great pics of Bronwen that I used on our Christmas card, and I am waiting to send them out (today) before uploading them here.

Some of the things we've been doing since the snow melted:
Playing with cousins:Decorating the driveway:
Digging in the dirt:Staying warm and cozy:Smelling the flowers:
Sliding:Playing with blocks:
We also had a nice visit from Chee Chee (see Babsy's 101 blog for pics).
I will try to update more regularly!
Hope everyone has a great Christmas--Bronwen's Mimi and Dja Dja (my parents) are coming in Sunday, so we might be MIA because of that. Hopefully I can keep a running pictorial update of our fun activities!

Snow, part II

Bronwen actually loved the snow after it stopped coming down from the sky. She cried when I tried to take her back inside, but the gloves she had were just cheap cotton ones, and they did nothing to keep out the cold and wetness of the snow. Her favorite game was scooping up the snow and dropping it on the sidewalk. She wouldn't walk out into it, though, and liked to stay safely on the concrete.

The second video is a little more of the same, with a huge smile at the end because Bronwen spied Leslie and her tiny dachshund Lucy from across the street.

Wow, Who Would Have Thought...

...there'd be SNOW in southern Lousiana?!

I could hardly believe my eyes--they were calling for a "wintry mix" which translates to rain, sleet, and maybe snow showers; obviously stuff melting before it could do anything. So last night when I went to sleep, I wasn't expecting this. TJ stayed home and got Bronwen up. SHe was pretty excited, until we brought her out into the stuff. Then...not so much. I think it was because these huge, fluffy flakes were falling on her face, cold and wet!

Here she is, venturing out into the snow for the first time. She usually will put on her hat, but today she was having none of it, as you can tell. Note to self: no hat attempts before breakfast.

We did get the hat on her, but the saturation point had been reached. We decided to enjoy the snow from the inside instead! So now Bronwen and T.J. are coloring away and the snow, sadly, has already turned into rain. It was nice while it lasted!

Happier pictures to come!

Helping?

Background:

I always do laundry in Bronwen's room. I bring in the load of clothes from the dryer and drop them on her floor. There she usually jumps around in it, "sorts it" or helps me unfold whatever I've folded. Fun times. If it comes directly out of the dryer after the cycle, it's hot--and I shake out the clothes in the air before I fold them. I think that is what she is trying to do here. Sadly, she chose all the clothes from her drawers--that were already folded.

Finally!

What Bronwen did over Thanksgiving week:

Build an addition on to Mimi and DjaDja's house in Shelby:
Move dirt from here:
To here:
as you can see, she moved a lot of dirt.
Play in a wagon:
Eat! (It was Thanksgiving, so there was copious amounts of this going on)
Learn about safety:
Color with my Aunt Jana, make silly faces, and learn that Uncle Pete loves beerPlay piano with Daddy
Have a slumber party with the girls (Thanks for the matching PJs Mimi!)Cuddle:
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We all did!

The Shame!

It is December, and I haven't posted since the middle of November. Unbelievable! Bronwen has not been sitting in a corner doing nothing, I assure you. We had an exciting Thanksgiving--I will post pictures soon!

B-TV

It has been awhile since I took some video footage of Bronwen, so here it goes. I don't think I had a specific purpose in mind, but whenever I let her do her own thing, it ends up surprising--for instance, I had no idea she knew how to "Buzz."

A snapshot of Bronwen first thing in the morning:
Just to see how tall she has gotten!

Tailgating at LSU

LSU vs UGA
I did not attend this one--stayed at home to work on TJ's birthday gift.
The cold start to the day meant Bronwen had to wear TJ's hat. Says quite a bit about TJ's small head and Bronwen's ginormous cranium.

Bronwen and her cousin, Sydney.

Bronwen didn't get to see the live Mike the tiger, so the bronze version had to suffice.LSU vs. Alabama

This one I was there--Bronwen eats her bananas with a fork, while Uncle Johnny watches in amazement. "Will a candy bar be next?" he wonders.

She points to the tiger, says "Tiiiger."And then she growls. "Groooooowwwwl."

Sadly, LSU lost both of these games. Coincidence, I'm sure.
