Just Because It's Funny

T.J. has been working on getting the perfect profile shot of Lila. He did get some good ones, but I love this one--Lila's personality is showing even at two weeks.

Happy Baby

While Bronwen plays, Lila enjoys her naps. She smiles as she sleeps, and despite the one eye opening, she never really woke up from whatever happy place she visits. I like to think the angels are talking to her--I don't care what anyone says; she isn't smiling because of gas. If it's gas, she is usually crying and stiff all over.

Bronwen Assaults Paparazzo

Outside Fun

Some of you may have heard that I recently had another beautiful baby girl. I find myself extremely short on time, but long on fun times to share. Therefore, I will display our activities yesterday in "Bronwen-TV" format. Lila was sleeping inside, and we were keeping tabs on her with the monitor.

Baptism

Lila and three of her cousins were baptised this weekend. Although T.J., Bronwen, Lila, and I faced some obstacles in getting to the church on time, we still managed to make it despite leaving late, stopping for fuel, filling up a diaper, leaking all over the car seat, changing into new clothes, and finding parking in the shade...

Here I am with Lila. Her gown is the one my mom made for Jana when she was baptised 33 years ago. I also wore it for my christening.

Lila was an angel for the entire ceremony. Here is the actual sprinkling of the holy water, as her godmother stands ready with the towel.Lila and I after the anointing with the oil:

Bronwen's New 'Do

Bronwen
received a lovely present today from our friend Ann. She was giving Lila a new outfit, and thoughtfully gave Bronwen an big sister gift as well. It is an ABC book all about animals. Bronwen currently loves anything having to do with creatures great and small, and I took this opportunity to show off her new hairstyle. :-) Some of you noted her ponytail from an earlier post...we've now graduated to pigtails!

LTV--For Aunt Jana

This will probably be a long, boring video clip for my usual audience, so I will not be offended if you do not desire to watch. This was intended for Aunt Jana, who likes babies and their funny faces.

Sisters!

This morning we enjoyed playing after breakfast. Some people have requested some updated pics of Lila--I don't want anyone to accuse me of ignoring her, but currently all she really does is eat, sleep, and fill her diaper. Not very thrilling stuff for the blog. Still, here is a little taste of how Bronwen is treating her new sister. I apologize for the poor lighting. I just can't get enough sunlight to come in!

I had Lila open her eyes, but she closed them as soon as the flash went off. Poor thing!

Garbage Truck

Monday was an exciting day--we managed to run outside in time to watch the garbage truck. This is always fun--it's loud, and it has a mechanical arm that picks up the cans and dumps them into the back. You can understand why Bronwen loves to watch it!

Because we enjoyed it so much, we decided to make a garbage truck for our art project. I used the instructions found at No Time for Flashcards -- a favorite website of mine!

Bronwen had a blast, and I think the garbage truck came out great. (our garbage trucks are blue--hence the color choice.)

First Day All Alone

To be fair, I am never "all alone" at this point...
The day started out pretty smoothly--Lila was hungry at 5:45, so I fed her, and we both got back to sleep. I awoke again at 7, listened for Bronwen, didn't hear her, and jumped into the shower. I had time to get dressed, put on some make-up, and get the coffee brewing, still hearing nothing from Bronwen. I was thinking how lucky I was that she decided to sleep in a bit.

I was combing out my hair when I heard an odd noise. I thought I might need to find a baseball bat (which I do not have) when I saw T.J. in the kitchen. He hadn't left for work when I was sleeping, as I had presumed! He had been playing (silently, I guess) with Bronwen for almost an hour!

So much for doing it all on my own today.

Still, he departed at 7:30, and we've been doing just fine as you can see.

Bronwen decided to color after her breakfast--I did not prompt her in any way when I asked her what she wanted to draw. She came up with this on her own!

While Bronwen played, Lila tried out her swing for the first time. It seemed she liked it!

Birthday Fun

Bronwen and T.J. attended her cousin's birthday party on Sunday. The party was at Little Gym, and Bronwen had a blast being part of the gymnastic action. Since Lila and I weren't there, I wil depend on T.J.'s pictures to tell the story.

In the middle of the action:

Easter

Easter was a busy and fun-filled day. It began (after church) with opening the loot the Easter bunny kindly left for us. Bronwen especially enjoyed discovering jelly beans.

She was also super-excited about the duck watering pot. She really likes playing in the bathtub with it. This is because I haven't planted any flowers this year. My punishment was losing half my face in the picture.

We went outside to try out the bubbles straight away. After discovering the many goodies, we went over to T.J.'s parents' house for the Easter egg hunt.(This is the face we now get when we tell her to smile. It's SO natural)
While we were there, we got a picture of all the grand kids, including the four newest additions! Lila is in the car seat, far right.

We hope you all had a great Easter as well!

Bronwen Bribes Bunnies!

Bronwen, Mimi and I have been working hard in preparation for Easter. Today's task--Make Rice Krispie eggs for the Easter Bunny (and us) to enjoy. Now--our adventure will be told in mostly picture form:

And Baby Makes Four!

Bronwen became a big sister on April 5! Lila Noelle St. Romain made her appearance at 5:47 pm weighing in at 7 pounds, 9.8 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches.

We are all doing great, especially now that I am home!

I will write more when I get some time--maybe 3 months? :-) --but right now I have some rest to do while I have help here. Luckily my mom arrived the night before Lila, so we have some live-in help for 2 weeks. Hurrah!
