Towers

Bronwen really enjoys building towers. She uses all sorts of things to do this--her Alphabet blocks, her books, and this day she used her MegaBlocks.

Note the colors/patterns are all of her choosing. She really likes to group her colors together.
I guess tower building can really wear a gal out.

Roll Over ?

Bath Time Expressions

When Bronwen was this age, I did the Lady of Bath series on this blog, but since Lila is a little behind in the hair department, we'll have to stick with funny faces. If I had more sleep, I am sure I could come up with clever comparisons to these faces, but right now, I am just happy to be posting something new. Suggestions are welcome.

I Never Would Have Thought...

If you have been following my blog for any length of time, you will know that when Bronwen was a baby, Pepper was her best friend. We used to think it was because she liked Bronwen; Later we discovered that it was more than likely because she liked Bronwen's toys. From boxes to bouncy seats Pepper was always at the ready to fill in the moment Bronwen was gone. But today, yes today, Pepper took things to a whole new level.

To wit--Lila in her Bumbo chair:
Then I see this:
I think to myself that this position cannot be comfortable, that she is just checking out the seat. I was wrong. She cozied herself up in the chair and prepared to nap. How this was comfortable, I have no idea. Yes, Pepper thinks she is a human baby. This is just a bonus because it seemed to be "cat in strange places" day. I found Mollie in here as soon as I went into our room to upload this pictures.

T.J.'s Artistic Side

Bronwen is wrapped inside the shower curtain--she told T.J. afterwards that she wanted to take "more crazy pictures." They are two peas in a pod...

In case you need a clearer idea of the game...Here is Bronwen "hiding" in a blanket. My part of the game is to go around asking where she is...and I'll say, "Is she in the closet?" and I'll get a giggly, "Nooooo..." from the talking cocoon. She thinks this is great fun, even though I find it somewhat tiring. Still--this is hilarious.

Tool Identification Video

For the nonbelievers:

Tools

Bronwen has been extremely interested in tools since she began helping T.J. in his workshop. Aunt Jana was kind enough to find a book all about different tools, and it is an almost daily ritual for Bronwen and T.J. to look at the book while playing with the actual tools from my toolbox. There is just nothing cuter than Bronwen saying, "Phillips head screwdriver" or "needle nose pliers."

Here Jerry helps with the sockets:

Sisters

Finally, we have a good comparison shot of the girls. The first is Bronwen at 20 weeks, the second is Lila at 19 weeks. I think they look really different!

No NY Necessary

From my previous postings, you all know how Bronwen has taken a certain shine to Lady Liberty. Well, since we don't live near Manhattan, Bronwen decided to work on her problem solving skills, and using a little ingenuity and a few props, she was able to not only see the Statue of Liberty, but also transform herself into...well, see for yourselves.

First Attempt:

Missing something and torch on wrong side...
Second Try: That is better--"Serious" face because of the importance of her job, welcoming the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."

Sisters!

My sweet girls:

Misunderstanding...

Sometimes in a marriage communication is tricky. Men tend to tune out female voices, have short-term memories, or completely misunderstand whatever important instruction you have given. Tonight was a whole new level of my saying one thing and T.J. hearing another.

Apparently this is what I get when I ask him to help me with the laundry:

Best Laid Plans

I took this video right before putting Lila down on her play mat to show how proficient she has gotten at rolling over. Naturally, she refused to perform, smiling all the way. Oh well. Still her enthusiasm at the intended project can not be missed!

The next video is dark and kind of long, so it's okay if you want to skip it :-) I am only putting it up here for Mimi and Aunt Jana. They have to watch, as they are related.

Johnny Jump-Up

absolutely loves the Johnny Jump-Up. As you can see:

Big Girl Bed

The past two weeks have been exhausting, as we have be working to rearrange our entire house to accommodate a big girl bed for Bronwen. We only have one crib, and it was time to get Lila out of the cribette--and our bedroom--and move her into the "real" crib in her own separate room. Needless to say, it was a complicated shuffle which resulted in a lot of vacuuming, grunting, rearranging, and (sadly) sawing one needless hole in a wall.

Still all worth it--Bronwen is so proud of her new bed, on loan to us from her aunt and uncle. I picked up the bedding at Target--and I am planning on painting some wall art to go with it. I am so excited about my project! Just have to wait for some art supplies to go on sale at Hobby Lobby. I swapped out this night table for another--the marble top just made me too nervous. We still have to redo the hanging stuff, so more pics of her entire room to come when that is complete.

Bed in use:And, of course, can't forget my Lila:

After Bath

T.J. is always willing to help his girls with their baths--and I am so grateful! Lila is getting so big, she tends to bounce around in the tub which makes me nervous. I leave it up to the resident engineer to figure out water to chub ratio and adjust the tub accordingly.
Here they are, straight from the tub!

And where is Bronwen?
